Hey Middle-Schoolers,
g
et empowered!
Join a junior youth group

While our "Principles of Drama" course can be adapted to suit your age level, it is best when used to supplement a larger program of education and spiritual empowerment. For kids aged 12 to 14, the Bahá'í community now offers 'junior youth groups,' which focus on developing the following in participants:

bullet

power of expression

bullet

moral decision making

bullet

step-by-step problem solving

bullet

a sense of urgency about service and action in the community

You don't have to be a Bahá'í to join. You should plan though to have fun and to become an agent of change in your world.

Call for Junior Youth Groups from The Universal House of Justice

"...it is imperative to pay close attention to children and junior youth everywhere ... What has become especially apparent ... is the efficacy of educational programmes aimed at the spiritual empowerment of junior youth. When accompanied for three years through a programme that enhances their spiritual perception, and encouraged to enter the main sequence of institute courses at the age of fifteen, they represent a vast reservoir of energy and talent that can be devoted to the advancement of spiritual and material civilization."

Junior Youth Take the Stage!

Durham, NC (June 2006) A dynamic group of young people (ages 12 - 16) has just completed a pilot course offered by the Drama Circle, which combines drama training with spiritual education.

The 60-hour course that began in Fall 2005 culminated, on June 10th, with the young 'drama circle' graduates performing three original plays before an enthusiastic and packed house at Durham's "Common Ground Theatre." The most frequently asked   question after the performance by young and old alike: "When does the next course begin?"
